Production area: Territories of Gioia del Colle, Santeramo, Turi, Altamura, Grumo Appula, Noci, Putignano, Rutigliano, Sammichele di Bari, Sannicandro, Acquaviva delle Fonti, Adelfia, Casamassima, Cassano delle Murge, Castellana Grotte, Conversano (Province of Bari, Central Puglia)

Wine types: Red; Rosé; White; Primitivo; Dessert wines (Aleatico Dolce and Aleatico Liquoroso Dolce)

Vine varieties: for Red and Rosé Uve Primitivo (50%-60%); Montepulciano, Sangiovese, Negroamaro e Malvasia (40%-50%).
For the White: Trebbiano (50%-70%); Pampanuto.
For the Primitivo: 100% Primitivo grapes.
Aleatico Dolce and Aleatico Liquoroso Dolce: Aleatico (85%); Malvasia, Negroamaro and Primitivo (15%).

Alcohol by volume: 10,5% (White); 12% (Red and Rosé); 13% (Primitivo); 15% (Aleatico Dolce); 18,5% (Aleatico Liquoroso Dolce).

Organoleptic properties
Gioia del Colle DOC Primitivo is purplish in colour but verges on orange when aged.
To the palate it is full-bodied and well-orchestrated.
The Red type ranges from ruby red to garnet red in colour with hints of dried plums.
To the palate it is dry, warm and fresh-tasting at the same time, suitably tannic, medium-bodied.
The Rosé type is slightly less alcoholic.
It is delicate ruby red in colour.
To the palate it is dry and fresh-tasting.
The White type is light straw yellow in colour. To the nose it is pleasant and fruity. To the palate it is fresh-tasting and dry.
The Aleatico type, available both as unfortified sweet and liquer wine, is obtained from Aleatico (min. 85%) and, used on their own or in combination, from other grape varieties such as Negroamaro, Malvasia Nera and Primitivo (15%).
